This past weekend, Irrigon had eight wrestlers compete at the Oregon Freestyle and Greco Roman state championships. All competed at a very high level.
Jaykob Dirksen, Zach Parton, Troy Parton and Anthony Vasquez all gained great experience for next season. Jackson Coffman and Cyrus Derowitsch were 6th in Greco Roman.
Lee Issel was 3rd in state in Greco Roman and qualifies to represent Oregon at the national championships this summer in July. He is the first boy from Irrigon to ever qualify for the team.
Cinthia Madrigal was 2nd in freestyle and Greco Roman and qualifies to go to the national championships as well. She is our 3rd ever representative at nationals. Congratulations to all of our wrestlers for a great season!
